Setup
Setup is done from “Advanced stock transfer” > “Setup”
- For each stock/warehouse that you can request internal stock transfer from you will need one customer and one supplier. This is for processing of orders and purchase orders and the synchronization between them.
Requirements
Stock transfer customers will need to have the posting type “Advanced stock transfer”. This to ensure correct handling during invoicing and posting. If this is incorrect it will present like this in the setup grid:
The stock/warehouse set up for advanced stock transfer must have a dimension of type “Location” set. This dimension type is new and a new dimension with this type can be set up under “Dimensions”. The dimension value is set in “Stock locations” > “Dimensions”. This is required to ensure traceability of general ledger posts. If this is incorrect it will present like this in the setup grid:
Stock transfer
Advanced stock transfer can be initiated by creating a purchase order or an order on the specified supplier/customer.
When initiated from purchase order an option to send it to the chosen stock/warehouse will appear. Once the purchase order has been sent it cannot be sent again, so any additional items must be added to a new purchase order. The purchase order number is added to the “Customer order” field on the order.
When initiated from order a purchase order on the connected supplier will automatically be created and kept up-to-date with each save until picking the order has begun. The order number is added to the “Tagged” field on the purchase order.
When an advanced stock transfer order is invoiced we move items into a transit location, and create an advanced shipping notice for the receiving stock/warehouse. A full list of all items currently in transit can be found in “Advanced stock transfer” > “Items in transit”.
When items are received at destination stock/warehouse users can pick up the already created shipping notice and continue the process from there, and when the goods receipt is confirmed the items are moved from transit location to their designated new locations at this stock/warehouse.
