Profiles with two different webshops

Modified on Mon, 5 Jun, 2023 at 11:06 AM

A client in Quick3 can be set up with two different profiles that are linked to each of their webshops. This is often relevant in cases where you need two different webshops, managed from the same Quick3 client.

You can distinguish between what is to be displayed by products and product groups on the various profiles. This is done by defining "allowed item groups" within the profile, or by creating a separate price list that only applies to the one, specific profile.

In this article, we describe how you can distinguish between two different profiles, and what should be web active on the two different webshops.

  • How to separate product groups between two different webshops
  • How to distinguish goods between two different webshops
  • How to distinguish focus product groups between two different wesbshops
  • How to distinguish article content between two different webshops

Profile 1 = Webshop 1

Profile 2 = Webshop 2

In this example, we have one client with two different profiles, each linked to separate webshops.

As a general rule of thumb, a webactive item will be available on both webshop, until we specify which rules should apply to the item group or item.

Allowed itemgroups per profile:

One way to differentiate the display of item groups is to define which item groups that are allowed on the specific profile's webshop. This can be managed in Profile and under the Allowed itemgroups tab.

This is how you proceed to allow/block the display of items in the webshop on an item group level:

  • Step 1: Go to the main menu and go to "Profile"
  • Step 2: Select the profile you want to make changes to
  • Step 3: Open the tab called "Allowed itemgroups"
  • Step 4: Click on + and add the product groups that you want to allow for this profile (NOTE! Only these item groups will be visible in this profile's webshop. All other product groups will not be allowed)
  • Step 5: Save

You have now overridden which item groups that are to be allowed and displayed on the web for this profile. If the other webshop is to show something else, you should do the same, and allow item groups for the other profile/webshop as well.

Allowed items per profile:

One way to separate the display of items on two different webshops is to make the items' price list available to only the respective profile. You do this by following the next steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the main menu and select "Prices Out"
  • Step 2: Create a new price list by clicking on + or choose an existing price list which should only apply to one profile. For example:

  • Step 3: Give this price list a name
  • Step 4: Set the desired profile that will apply to this price list (for example, profile 2)
  • Step 5: Save

You have now created a price list that only applies to profile 2. This means that items in this price list will only be displayed on the webshop of profile 2, and not profile 1.

Allowed focus items per profile:

You can define which focus item groups are to be displayed on the various webshops. You do this by specifying which profile the respective focus item group should apply to. Proceed like this:

  • Step 1: Go to the main menu and select "Focus Items"
  • Step 2: Create a new Focus Item Group or select an existing one
  • Step 3: Define which profile the Focus Group should apply to in the column for Profile. Click on the magnifying glass to see all profiles. Select the desired profile.

ATTENTION! If you leave the field for Profile empty, the Focus Group will appear on both profiles.

  • Step 4: Add desired products to the Focus Item Type
  • Step 5: Save

You have now specified which profile and which webshop the Focus Item Group should be displayed for.

How to distinguish article content between two different webshops:

If an article or banner is only to be displayed on one website, you can define that the article should only apply to one of the profiles. You do this in the header settings inside the article. Proceed like this:

  • Step 1: Go to the main menu and select "Article Search"
  • Step 2: Create a new article by clicking +, or select an existing article
  • Step 3: In the field for Profile, select the profile (webshop) on which the article should be displayed

  • Step 4: Save

Your article or banner will now only appear on the online store you have defined.

ATTENTION! If the field for profile is left empty, the article content will be displayed on both websites.
