The Q3 Messenger serves as a centralized messaging system for communication among users across the entire Quick3 platform.

See all Quick3 chats in one place

Chat threads from contexts across the entire Quick3 are aggregated in one place. You can access it by clicking the chat button located in the top right corner of the Quick3 header toolbar (see the video below):

 

Q3 Messenger shows all your chats in which you have participated. Notifications for mentions in chats continue to show under the notification alert icon. Q3 Messenger opens in a side sheet, allowing you to stay within your current working tab in Quick3 while supporting your communication anytime.


Start chats from a context tab

Q3 Chats are accessible in the following contexts within Quick3:

  • Tasks 
  • Orders 
  • Offers 
  • Items
  • Picklists 
  • Invoices  
  • Invoice Controls 
  • Purchase Orders 
  • Voucher Management Documents 

You can easily start communicating with your colleagues directly from the relevant context by simply clicking the chat button in the quick action menu (at the top right of the tab). The video below demonstrates where to find the Q3 Chat and basic navigation within it, for example from the Task context tab (see the video below):


To start a chat, type @name and choose a person from the list, then enter the text of your message. Press the send button or Ctrl + Enter. Upon receiving a new message, a notification will appear.    

 

Navigate to a context's detail tab

A chat's related context is accessible from the Q3 Messenger view. You can easily go directly to the Task, Order, Invoice, etc. from the chat by clicking on the context title name to navigate to the tab. The chat header includes essential details (such as name, customer, order number, etc.), enabling understanding of whether this chat pertains to order, offer, task, etc. Additionally, the chat can be easily recognized by the icon in the header, which corresponds to the context of the chat within Quick3 (see the video below):


Open/share context links

The context tab header link can be copied/opened in a new tab or shared (see the video below):


Open the chat from a toast notification

You can open a chat from a newly received message notification by clicking on the toast notification (see the video below):


Messages will be marked as "read" when viewing the thread

Once you open any chat thread, it will be marked as read, making it easy to distinguish unread (new) messages from those that have been read (see the video below):


Keyboard accessibility

Actions in the messenger can be performed from the keyboard via keyboard shortcuts or button interaction.  For buttons, use tabbing (Tab key) to move focus to the button and press Enter to use the button.

  • Go back: back arrow button ( ) Focus + Enter
  • Exit: Esc / exit button Focus + Enter
  • Navigate chats: Focus chat thread list + Up ⇧ / Down ⇩
  • Open tab: Focus chat header title + Enter 
  • Scroll messages: Focus chat messages container + Up ⇧ / Down ⇩  
  • Send messages: Ctrl + Enter after typing a message /  Focus send button + Enter

How do I send a message to another user?


In Q3 Messenger you write a message on the context. But you can mention other users in the Context Chat and they will receive your message. 


To send a message on the context, follow these steps: 

  1. Open the Q3 Chat in the relevant context tab: Task, Order, Offer, Item, Picklist, Invoice, Invoice Control, Purchase Order, or Voucher Management DocumentsYou can find the chat button in the quick action menu (at the top right of the tab).
  2. To start a chat, type @name and choose a person from the list, then enter the text of your message. 
  3. Press the send buttonor Ctrl + Enter.   
  4. By sending a new message in this context tab, you created a new chat thread that you can see in the Q3 Messenger (global view).  


Can I send a message from the Customer or Supplier tab? 


Currently, Q3 Chat is available in the following contexts: Task, Order, Offer, Item, Picklist, Invoice, Invoice Control, Purchase Order, or Voucher Management Documents
