1. General
For the Harley-Davidson pilot customer, setting up the EBM Code in the "Sales" section requires using the following "Filter types":
- GL account: Account number
- Dimension: MERKE (Make), KAT (Category)
- Entity state: NY (New), BRUKT (Used), DEMO
It is important to set the correct Code type for each Code, so for Sales, the Code type should be set as “Amount”, for Cost as "Entity purchase price" and for Units as “Quantity” (Image 1.1):
Image 1.1
The Entity purchase price is the cost of an entity (bike) without any Additional costs and Costs after the sale.

Example. Image 1.1 shows the settings for the code VS1000 Retail Sportster. This line of code needs to display sales, cost, and sold units of new bikes, so the Entity state has been set as “NY” (New). One of the filters for this code is GL account that is set as Account 3010 "Salg Ny Kapitalvare" (Sale New capital goods) for both Sales and Units; for Cost will be account 4310 “Varekost Ny Kapitalvare” (Cost of New capital goods).
The setting of each filter is important because in this way each subsequent filter helps Quick3 limit the amount of data considered for each line of code. Having set Entity state = “NY” (New), the system does not consider the sale of any BRUKT (Used) or DEMO bikes as a value for this line of code. With Dimension “Kategory” = Sportster, we will get the values of sales, cost, and sold units in the EBM Report only for bikes Sportster type.

Preparation Costs
Preparation Сosts and Costs share the same account 4310 “Varekost Ny Kapitalvare” (Cost of New capital goods) for that reason, it is necessary to set the correct Code type for those codes. The code type for Preparation Сosts should be set as "Entity cost" (see Image 1.2). The difference between "Entity purchase price" and "Entity cost" is that "Entity purchase price" is the purchase price of the entity at the time of sale while "Entity cost" is any preparation cost of the entity (motorcycles) + any costs after the sale.
Image 1.2
This line of Preparation Cost should show the amount of preparation cost for new entities of all makes, so the Dimension MERKE has been set as Harley-Davidson + Andre merker (Other makes) (see Image 1.2). According to the code description for this line, it is mentioned that these bikes are new, and therefore, the Entity State should be set as "NY" (New).
2. Sales: GL account
Some lines of the EBM Report should accumulate sums from several accounts, which is possible with Quick3 by simply adding all accounts with the additional lines (Image 2.1).
Image 2.1
The income generated from the sale of parts and accessories, which were sold simultaneously with the motorcycle, should be included in Code VS1110.1. In this case, in addition to setting up accounts, we need to specify the Order type "Kapitalvare" (Capital goods) so that Quick3 can accumulate only the income from the sale of parts and accessories that were sold together with the entity in this particular line (see Image 2.1). However, in this scenario, when making a sale, it is crucial to create blocks for both the entity (motorcycle) and the corresponding parts/accessories ("Utstyr og Tilbehør") in the same order (Image 2.2):
Image 2.2
Code VS1110.2 should display the costs related to VS1110.1 based on a similar concept (see Image 2.1).
3. Sales: Dimensions
The block "New Sales" (VS0980 - VS1090) consists of various types of bikes, so it is necessary to set the Dimension "Kategory" (KAT) according to the bike category/type (Images 3.2 and 3.3). The "Kategory" (category) dimension is not a standard one; it was specifically created for Harley Davidson projects when there was a requirement to allocate values for different types of bikes. It means you can create as many dimensions as necessary.
In order to set the "Dimension", add a new line using the plus sign in the upper right corner (arrow 1), and select "Dimension" from the drop-down list (arrow 2) (see Image 3.1).
Image 3.1
By clicking on the search icon in the Dimension column (arrow 3, Image 3.1), select from the list (Image 3.2)
Image 3.2
Next, set the Dimension value according to the "Kategory" (category) of the bike (arrow 3, Image 3.1) by choosing from the list (Image 3.3). New Dimension values, for example for Categories, can also be added by simply clicking on the plus sign in the upper right corner (see Image 3.3):
Image 3.3
When working with Dimensions, a crucial aspect is setting up the Dimension Rule for each account to which the Dimensions will be applied. In the example shown in Image 3.1, it is necessary to configure the Dimension Rule for account 3010 as either "Allowed" or "Required" (see Image 3.4). This way, the system will automatically apply the appropriate Dimension to each transaction related to this account.
Image 3.4
To make these settings, follow the next steps: Chart of accounts – > Account 3010 – > Dimensions subtab – > KAT (set as "Allowed" or "Required").
4. Sales: Entity state
The Entity state can be set as:
- Ny – New entity
- BRUKT – Used entity
- DEMO – Demonstration model of the entity (see Image 4.1).
