1. General
To configure the EBM Code settings for the Harley-Davidson pilot client in Quick3, the "Finance" Report group has been used for the "Overheads," "Headcount," and "Company Summary" sections. The only Сode type available for the "Finance" Report group is "Amount" (see Image 1.1).
Image 1.1
There are two types of Filters in the "Finance" Report group: GL account and Dimension. Both filter types have been utilized for the EBM Code setup for the Harley-Davidson pilot customer.
2. Finance: EBM Code setup
Most of the Finance group codes were configured using only the GL account filter, while some of them were set up using both Dimension and GL account filters.

Example. Image 2.1 is an example of settings for the Harley-Davidson pilot client. To narrow down the data for account 1410, responsible for "Varelager Ny Kapitalvare" (Stock New capital goods), the Dimension "Art" (Species) should be set, which will filter the data to the amount of Bonus that was accrued.

You can find more examples and details about GL accounts and Dimension filters in the previous article.
3. Finance: Required settings
Using Dimension with GL account for EBM Code setup, it's crucial to make sure that the necessary settings are made for each of these accounts (see Image 3.1). This ensures that the Dimension is automatically filled for each transaction, as has been explained before in this article.

Example. In Image 2.1, the EBM Code setup involved using Dimensions "Art" and GL account 1410. In this situation, it is essential to configure the Dimensions Rule for "Art" as "Required" for the account 1410 (see Image 3.1).

4. Finance: Validation of the EBM Code setup
After completing all the settings, the next step is to verify the accuracy and validity of all data generated by Quick3 for the EBM report. This process was carried out for each code for the Harley Davidson pilot customer by the Quick Systems team, and we will look at an example of how to do it below.
Image 4.1
The settings for the "Insurance" code line involved the use of the "GL account" filter, as shown in Image 4.1. In this case, Quick3 will generate the sum of these two accounts' balances for the specified period, and this total amount will be displayed in the EBM report.
To verify the accuracy of the settings in the generated EBM report for the code "OH1070.1 Insurance" the initial step involves checking the balance of accounts 7500 and 7550 in the Financial Report for the specified period. To do this, open the Finance Report under the "Reports" tab (Finance module in Quick3) as shown in Image 4.2.
Image 4.2
Ensure that the period set for the generation Financial Report is the same as for the EBM report. If we set 202306 - 202306, the report will generate data for June and for the period from January to June that we will need to compare with EBM Report (see Image 4.3).
Image 4.3
Find both Accounts (7500 and 7550) and check their balance for the period (Image 4.4):
Image 4.4
Calculate the total for both accounts (7500 and 7550) as shown in Table 4.1:
Account No. 7500 | Account No. 7550 | Total | |
UB (Jan-Jun) | 45 127.18 | 47 100.00 | 92 227.18 |
Period (Jun) | 5 419.93 | 9 856.00 | 15 275.93 |
Table 4.1
Afterward, we need to generate an EBM report for the same period, find the code "OH1070.1 Insurance" and compare it with the amounts from Table 4.1 (see Image 4.5).
Image 4.5
The amounts from Table 4.1 and the EBM report match perfectly, indicating that all settings are correct, and all data generated by Quick3 is accurate.
