How to Write Messages in Quick3 Chat

The Q3 Chat serves as a centralized messaging system for communication among users across the entire Quick3 platform.

Starting a Chat in Quick3

In Quick3, messages are organized by context (like Order, Task, or Invoice), making it easy to send messages directly related to specific Tasks, Orders, Offers, Invoices, etc. Instead of explaining details like the Order No. or Task No. as you would in a regular chat, you can simply write a message in the Q3 Chat within the context of the specific Order or Task you need to discuss with another person. This way, the recipient can see your message and immediately access the relevant Order or Task directly from the chat by clicking on the Chat subject (which is also a link to this page in Quick3).

Note! To start a new chat, you need to send a message from within the context (e.g., the Order page). Only then will you be able to see the newly created chat in the Q3 Chat (global view).

To send a message from a specific context, for example, Task or Order:

  1. Open the "Chat" icon in the toolbar (located at the top-right of any page, e.g., Task, Order, Invoice, etc.).
  2. Tag a person by typing "@" followed by their name (e.g., @Anne). As you type, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions. Simply select the name from the list.
  3. Write your message.
  4. Press the send button (or Ctrl + Enter).

You will receive a notification in the Quick3 Notifications once you get a response.

Responding from Q3 Chat: A Comprehensive Global View

  1. Open Q3 Chat (global view): Click on the "Chat" icon in the Quick3 header.
  2. Find the Chat Thread: Look for the relevant chat, such as “Order 568493 - BMW”.
  3. Tag a Person: Type "@" followed by the person’s name (e.g., @Anne). Select the person from the dropdown list.
  4. Send Your Message: Write your message and press the send button (or hit Ctrl + Enter).
  5. Notifications: When you receive a new message, a notification will appear in your Quick3 Notifications (the bell icon in the Quick3 header).

Note! Currently, notifications for new messages will only show in the Quick3 Notifications, so keep an eye on the bell icon for updates.

Managing Your Q3 Chat

You will only see chat threads in Q3 Chat (global view) that you have participated in. If you read a message without responding, that chat won’t appear in your Q3 Chat (global view). This helps keep your Q3 Chat organized and free from inactive threads. You can still find messages you didn’t respond to in the Context Chats, under specific contexts like Tasks, Orders, Offers, etc. Context Chats contain the entire message history for that specific context, regardless of your participation. Meanwhile, Q3 Chat (global view) consolidates all active chats across Quick3 from various contexts.
