Articles as tiles on the front page

Modified on Tue, 1 Sep at 2:46 PM

In this article, we explain how to display articles together as a group of "tiles" on the front page of your webshop.

Step 1: Create an article group

The first thing you need to do is create an article group. This article group should be set to appear in section: FRONT.

Step 2: Add articles to the article group

Next, you need to link articles to your article group. This is done by clicking one of the plus (+) icons as shown below.

You can either:

  • Add existing articles.
  • Create new articles directly from the article group.

Once you have linked one or more articles, save the article group.

The articles must be of type Normal, and they must be published for one of the following audiences:

  • All users
  • Logged-in users only
  • Guests only

Next, you need to link articles to your article group. You do this by clicking on one of the plus signs as shown below.

You can either add articles that have already been created, or create new articles from the article group.

Links

Remember to add a link to the page you want customers to open when clicking an article tile.

The link is entered in the Link Address field on each individual article. For example, if you want the tile to link to a product group, open the desired product group, copy its URL, and paste it into the article's link field.

Display Options

There are two flags that can be added to the article group to change how the tiles are displayed. These are predefined CSS rules that control the appearance of the article tiles in the webshop.

The following flags are available:

  • Q3W_CardTile
  • Q3W_DoubleTile

Enter the flag in the Flag field, as highlighted in the image below.

New in 2026

In addition to the flags above, three new flags have been introduced to further customize the appearance of front-page tiles. These flags are only available for webshops with the Design Plus package.

Q3W_AspectLandscape

Displays article tile images using a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Can be combined with Q3W_CardTile and Q3W_DoubleTile

Q3W_AspectPortrait

Displays article tile images using a 3:4 aspect ratio.

Can be combined with Q3W_CardTile and Q3W_DoubleTile

Q3W_AspectWide

Displays article tile images using a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Can be combined with Q3W_CardTile and Q3W_DoubleTile

By combining these flags with the tile display options, you can create a more dynamic and visually engaging front page, especially when using multiple article groups with tiles displayed one after another.
