Relocate items - Q3 Mobile

Modified on Thu, 20 Jun at 3:46 PM

To have a complete overview of the locations of items, it is important to record when items are moved from one location to another. Some think that the location 'Store' is synonymous with the associated locations in the warehouse. This will lead to not knowing exactly where the items are located. If items are replenished into the 'Store', this should be recorded as a transfer of goods so that the inventory in the warehouse is reduced and the inventory in the store is increased.

If there are too many of an item in one location in store and they are therefore placed on an alternative location as a reserve storage, this should also be recorded. Or it may be that items are moved from an outdoor container to a shelf in the warehouse, etc. Therefore, it is recommended that all such locations are given their own location reference.

To use this routine effectively, it is recommended that both items and locations are marked with a barcode.

Location labels can be printed from Items - Reports - Stocklocation label, or from each node under Stock locations.

To be able to relocate items that do not have a spesific location reference, but are only assigned to for example main location 1, you also need to have a barcode label for this.

Item labels can be printet from Items - Reports - Item label.

With Q3Mobile, you can easily use the Relocate (Item Transfer) function to perform these relocations.

  • Start the Q3Mobile app on your mobile phone.
  • Select Relocate from the main menu.
  • From meny choose Relocate

  • A list for item relocations will be created and opened automatically.
  • Use the Scanner icon to scan the location and items.

Routine for relocations

  1. Scan the barcode of the location from which the items are being moved.
Alternatively, location 1 if the item does not have a specific location.

  2. Scan the barcode of the items being moved.

Enter the correct quantity for the item.

If multiple items are being moved from the same location, scan these consecutively.

If items are also being moved from another location, scan this location, and then scan the items.

The items will be marked in blue, indicating that they are being taken out.

  3. Click OUT

The items are placed in transit. (The OUT option will disappear from the menu.)

  4. Scan the barcode of the location to which the items are being moved.

        5. Scan the items being placed into this location.

Enter the correct quantity in the line.

If multiple items are going to the same location, scan these consecutively.

If items are going to another location, scan this location, and then scan the items.

The items will be marked in green, indicating that they are being placed in.

        6. Click IN to confirm.

The item transfer is closed and the stock log is updated with transactions for relocation from the old to the new location.

In the screen, locations and items are listed consecutively.

Location - Items - Location - Items

The location above the items is used for the action being performed.

If you accidentally click on two locations consecutively, the lower one is the one that applies.

You can leave an relocation list if needed. It will remain in the queue, and you can open it again later to continue. When the list under Relocate is empty, you have no ongoing transfer tasks.
