A separate product is established for the gift card, as well as its own product group and accounting rule.
A separate payment method is added to the checkout, the same account is set to the payment type gift card as to the product .
The gift card is sold using product gift card.
When paying with a gift card, the gift card is selected as the payment method at the checkout.
If the customer does not redeem the gift card in full, the remaining amount of the gift card is entered as a new gift card sale. Payment is the amount of the first gift card.
Example:
The customer buys a gift card for 100 EUR.
A 40 EUR purchase is paid with a gift card.
The remaining amount of the gift card is entered using product code gift card, i.e. a new gift card of the amout 60 EUR is sold.
At the checkout, gift card is selected as payment method and the entire balance of the first gift card (100 euros) is the amount paid.
The customer will be given a new 60 e gift card and the old 100 euro gift card will be destroyed.
