Import of images for web

Importing images uses import type "items". More information about this import type can be read here.

Image import

When building a webshop, it is appropriate to add images to the items you sell. If this is to be done manually on all items, it will be very time-consuming. We recommend that you contact your suppliers to find out if they have files that contain images (and preferably web texts) that will make this job considerably easier. We have the option to import files in the import wizard in the following formats:

You can also save a lot of time by using the Import wizard, if you are going to add similar images to many items. The recipe for how this can be done you will find below.

Set up in the import wizard

Go to the Import wizard and click the plus sign. Fill in the necessary information and click OK.

To import images, check the box to include advanced columns. Drag the desired file into the import image.

Required columns to run the import are:

  • Supplier (entered in the supplier field at the top of the settings)
  • Item number
  • Item group code (primary group)
  • List price
  • Price without VAT
  • Live. item number
  • Unit
  • Image URL (here you must also insert prefix [" and suffix "] if this is not found in the import file)

When the columns from the file are linked to required fields, the import can be run. You will receive a notification when this is completed.

After the import has been run, you must go into the file bank to load the images that have been imported.

Open file bank (to be found in the main menu) and click on the hamburger menu. Then select "Start import of files from importqueue". This function is only available for resources with administrator rights

When this has been completed, you can open the File explorer on an item of which you have imported an image, and check that everything is OK.

Example: Use the same image on many items

If you want to use the same image on a bunch of items, you can export an item list from Quick, and re-import the file with the image URL.

In this example, we have a product group "Spark plugs" - where all products must use the same image.

Step 1:

Insert a picture of one of the items in the usual way, and open the item on the web. Then right-click on the image and select "copy image address". Paste this into a note or document.

Step 2:

Go to the Item search and search for the items that will use the same image.

In this case, it is all the items in the "Spark plugs" item group. Then I choose to enter this item group and click "search".

Then I right-click in the field where all the items appear, and select export --> Excel Export.

I will then download an Excel file with information about these items.

Step 3:

Open the Excel file, start editing and create a new column for Image URL. Enter the image URL you got in step 1 on each item line that will use this image. I choose not to enter the URL of the item I entered a picture of in the first place. Remember to save the file.

Step 4:

Carry out the setup described further up in this article under setup in the Import wizard. When this is completed, it will look like this on the product group for our example in the webshop:
